- 1 cup pastina (small pasta)

Instructions:
- In a large pot, bring the chicken or vegetable broth to a boil. Add the pastina and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
- In the same pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until they become fragrant and translucent.
- Add the diced carrot and celery to the pot and continue to cook for about 5 minutes, until the vegetables have softened slightly.
- Stir in the frozen peas and cook for an additional 2 minutes until they are heated through.
- Return the cooked pastina to the pot with the vegetables, stirring well to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste, adjusting the seasoning as needed.
- Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the pastina mixture and stir until the cheese has melted and coated the pasta evenly.
- Reduce the heat to low and let the flavors meld together for a few minutes, allowing the pastina to absorb the delicious aromas.
- Once ready, remove the pot from the heat. Serve the pastina in individual bowls, garnishing each serving with a few fresh basil leaves for added freshness and color.
